Claude Marcelin's Rehabilitation.

Photos Courtoisie ToTo Laraque

As you are all aware, the talented guitarist Claude Marcelin was in Haiti for the carnival. As he was leaving his car, he was abducted by a group of individuals and taken to Citée Soleil and robbed. As he was arguing with the aggressors, he managed to brake loose and was shot while trying to escape.

Although wounded, he managed to get some help. He was then taken to the hospital where he underwent surgery. A few weeks later, he returned to Montreal where he had a second operation.

Pikliz is proud and happy to announce that he is doing excessively well. He is at "Le Centre hospitalier Catherine Booth" where he is for intense physical therapy. Now , Claude is able to stand on his feet and is making a lot of progress. We spoke to him and he was very grateful and touched by all the messages of sympathy. He sincerely thanks each and every one for their support and affections during his ordeal. Pikliz is proud to share with you some of his most recent pictures. We sincerely wish him a speedy recovery. How sad it is.  We are duped, Ayiti is going down the drain faster than I could complete this sentence.  A man who is such an icon in the Ayitian music had to suffer such ordeal at "home", not a foreign land, his home.  Please tell me, is this our future?  Are we all strangers to each other?  Are we then truly diapora at home?  We are surely treated as diaspora, sinistres and the likes.  In the foreign land, we are African diaspora, yes of course this is not our home but when we go "Home", we are nothing but a sucker to be robbed, yon diaspora yo pral kale tet, a stranger in our own land, treated worse than a step-child.

    Hi Ti Claude,
I fell in love with you when I rediscovered the song 'Manoushka' for which you played the guitar. From the comments that were left by fans on Youtube, I learned of the unfortunate attack on your life. Eventhough it took place 2 years ago, I thank God now every time that He saved your life. I would have been devastated to know otherwise. Je suis sure que ce n'est qu'un coup de foudre qui bientot va passer, mais entretemps je veux que tu saches que je t'aime profondement. I truly love you.

    Hi Ti Claude,
I just recently learned via youtube comments of the attack on your life 2 years ago. I'm so grateful that God spared your life. Someone posted Manoushka, featuring you as the guitarist and I fell in love with you, though I've seen you on TV for many years. This was my favorite song when I was about 7 years old in Haiti. I'd no heard it until a week ago. I'm so thankful that you're alive. I hope to meet you some day.

    Hi Didi

Na wè on jou...
