Photos by Francois Adrien
Blues has long been the favorite form of music for Austrian born chef a ...more nd entrepreneur, Harald Neuweg, Owner of Fritz & Franz Bierhaus in Coral Gables and Wienerstube Restaurant in Aspen.
The soulful tunes of Blues speaking of heartache and loss have touched many and made legends out of the likes of BB King and Ella Fitzgerald. For fans of this classic genre, the Coral Gables Bluesfest is not to be missed.
While there are many Miami events that celebrate music and the Blues, Coral Gables Bluesfest is a standout. This great Florida blues festival was jammed a packed with world-class sets by fabulous musicians.
This 12th annual Coral Gables Bluesfest was a free showcase for national acts as well as local artists looking for their big break. Held outside of Fritz and Franz Bierhaus, the music was mixed with the best in American, Creole, German and Austrian dishes. Don't miss it next year -

Annual Fundraising Cocktail Reception & Auction at the Little Haiti cultural Center in Miami. Photos by Francois Adrien and Paul Leger
Our "Night of Hope & Inspiration" was held at the beautiful Little Haiti Cultural Center. Sant La was honored to have Calvin Hughes (WPLG 10) as MC, and the inspired singing of two national anthems and "Ave Maria" by Yoni Marcel. Our two honorees were The Miami Herald and CNN/AC360° for their ongoing comittment to the Haiti Earthquake story -- awards accepted by Editorial Page Editor Myriam Marquez with several Herald correspondents, and by Anderson Cooper via video relay. Last, but certainly not least, renown pianist Reginald Policard and his ensemble treated us to musical food for the soul..
THANK YOU to all who attended. Your support is crucial to Sant La's ability to assist both client families in these difficult economic times and earthquake survivors who have found refuge in our community. -
