    11eme B, (1959-60), Jean Marie Guilloux (Théatre)
Bonjour Monsieur Duré ! Tu as raison. Rectifie-moi si je me trompe . A +.

I once lived in the home of Max and Marie Theresa Penette in 1974 for six months. They became my second set of parents. Over the years, we lost touch. I planned to return to the spiritual home that I dearly loved once more before leaving this earth. Now, I shudder to think that I may have lost them forever with the earthquake. Does anyone know if they are alive or if their children exist? Help...

    This was also my school.
And it is true that you are shaped by family, school, education....
Some teachers will alway have a special place in my mind: Max Penette, Mme. Daez, Remy Zamor, Rene Philoctete, Rene Gaspar, Maitre Gerard.....
It has been about 40 years since i wore that uniform... and some memories are like yesterday....
Many, many, many of us have been inspired and shaped by such Teachers.
We really need to make a great page to honor such great people.
    who's with me?

Nostalgia insists that I reminisce and journey back to the years during which I grew my roots and began to expand my wings. JMG was, indeed, the well of excellence, the epitome of a golden education. These years taught me decency, integrity and the value of education.
Fortunate to have been able to relocate many of these valiant souls with whom I studied. After all, at my age, I prefer to think of the past. I never cease to think of this quote: "The past is never dead. It is not even past."
    Respect!!!!

      Dear Joel,
I also attended Jean-Marie Guilloux and you were in some of my classes. Your experience is different from mine. To me, JMG was a torture chamber where beatings and abuses were a daily occurrence. Most of foreign teachers were prejudiced and had nothing charitable about their behavior. Frère Victorin ( Ti Pigeon) uses to kick the basket pistache of the poor merchants seated outside the side entrance. And on and on....

My dear Harry,I am sorry to hear this after almost five decades. I do remember the many exposed to beatings due to their academic output. It was not right, yet it was the system. Again sorry and most of all happy to hear from you!
