The Most Reverend Guy A. Sansaricq became the First Haitian-American Bishop and the First Black Bishop to serve in the 153 years old Diocese of Brooklyn which also covers Queens. I am a black American. I met Reverend Guy in the late 1990s while living in Vanderveer Estates. He is more than worthy of this blessing that has been bestowed upon him. He is an unsung hero to many people. He has had lifelong impact on my life by providing kindness. guidence and patience during a very difficult period in my life. Years later, and many miles away my heart is filled with such joy in this good news, even if it's a "little" late. May God continue to bless this most holy man.

    Father Guy and now Bishop-
He deserves such a great honor and may God allow him to continue through the years, working fervently as he has done in the past and may He grant him perpetual health. AMEN!

    WE LOVE YOU. LYEP

Father (at the time) Sansaricq presided over my wedding ceremony in 1981. I got to spend quite a bit of time with him in the months leading up to the wedding. He is a very passionate, loving and wise man. The ceremony was in creole, a novelty at the time, and many people were apprehensive about the whole thing. Father Sansaricq delivered such an eloquent sermon that people were crying in the church. I'll never forget that. It was a tear jerker. Everyone was very touched.

every haitian should be very proud of that tremendous event. les haitiens sont toujours exceptionnels dans tout ce qu'ils entreprennent. Je dois avouer d'une facon ou d'une autre.

Bishop Guy is well deserving of this great call to the Episcopacy. He has been a dedicated and tireless worker in the Lord's vineyard. He is an honorable, compassionate, caring and gentle man who will be a continuous blessing to ALL of us who know and work with him and much more to those who are yet to know this wonderful individual.

May the Lord Bless him in his service to all people.
