Yeah I aggree, but the whole neighborhood should put their money together to have a new street ...but when you live there, where do you go market ? I see electricity lines but does it work well ?? Why do you say '' so called'' maybe they are not bourgeois at all, but hard working people.

True...An individual or a family could have worked hard for years in the US just to build their dream house in their home land. Or someone who has been fortunate enough to have a decent job in Haiti could have saved for years to be able to build that house. Whatever the case, I hope the owner will think about paving at least part of the road leading to their home. I am judging, but if everyone did a little, a lot could get done...

This is the problem I have with so-called "bourgeoisie Haitienne". If he or she has that much money to build a house like that, at least, he or she could have finished paving the road.

Why wait for the government?. It is not what your country can do for you, it is also what you can do for your country.

I agree with the posting. There are really rich Haitians in Haiti, they all are greedy and look out for themselves and mistreat therer own people.

    Anonyme !

C'est quoi l'Afrique perdu ? Faut pas exagerer tout de meme. Un peu d'optimisme et de courage.

C'est seulement un immeuble perdu en Haiti ! On croit encore avoir la capacité de reconstruire.

    Hello Gabrielle.

I want to say otherwise. Our love for Haiti cannot & should not occlude the reality in which we live. When referring to the victims of kidnappings as those "mixed in wrong dealings", what do you mean ? I do undrestand your statement but, I want to give you the benefit of the doubt by inviting you to be a bit more succint ! You are mixing a lot. In other words a "bouillon". Let's not forget the children & elderlies who were kidnapped and later found dead. Those were not identified as being mixed in " wrong dealings". Where do they fit in your statement ?

We wish you well going back, do not fail to accept the facts otherwise they'll never be corrected.

All that scare about Haiti really shouldn't be. All the news of kidnapping, murder, etc happens to those that are mixed into the wrong dealings.

Take it from someone who was in your same shoes. I left Haiti in 1991 after the coup. I was so traumatized being that I was working with Red Cross as the time so I saw the millions of innocent civilians who were murdered. I vouched when I left that I will never go back; too afraid and too disgusted with Haiti.

To much suprise I returned to Haiti for this past Christmas 08 and had an amazing time. I'm actually planning to return back to Haiti permanently very soon. Us that are well educated need to go back and help rebuild Haiti to where it needs to be. Lets not continue the Brain drain of such beautiful country.

Another ruine... No wonder Haiti never moves forward. I truly believe Haitians need an extreme and intensive anger managment course. Too much hatred, resentment from the past coupled with individual's egocentric lifestyle contributed to the regression and the development of the country.

Folks, it is probable that you will dislike somebody rich or someone in power and want to get rid of them, fine. Get rid of the individual that you disagree with (by the way you don't have to kill the person) but don't destroy what they have done just because you have to disagree with them. This kind of nonsense doesn't exist in the neighboring country? The presence of UN in the country clearly tells the rest of the world that Haitians have a problem and, it is very shameful. Does anyone have enough sense to understand this simple concept?

Sad to see this, nothing last forever, may be it could not be saved and was a danger to it's occupants.

I think we should be glad it has been sold to some one who intends to do something positive with it, like build a university and educate the youngs.

In years to come, it will be a landmark with more meanings to Haiti and it's people.
