A 80 ans Mirianne Jean-Jacques se vehicle pour prende part à des activités culturelles d’où bien souvent elle en est l’artiste honorée. Mirianne le dira fierement a qui veut l’entendre qu’ell a appris à peindre à l’Institut de Notre Dame de Lourdes à Jérémie d’où elle est née et a vécue jusqu’à son départ pour les Etats-Unis en 1958. Dès lors, sa carrière professionnelle évoluait du secretariat des l’Ambassadess dHaiti et de Burundi a Washington D.D. jusqu’au ceintre de Bellevue Hospital à NY comme Clinical Social Worker après avoir achevé sa Maitrise à Columbia University. Retraitée depuis 1996, elle a continue à fabriquer des biblots en porcelaine et à peindre s’inspirant de divers sujets classiques aussi bien que des scenes typiques de son pays. Mirianne a depuis son arrivée en Floride souvent expose ses oeuvres dans diverses festivités communales tenant place à Broward County . Plus d’un de ces tableaux ont gagné le premier prix dans des concours d’artistes regionaux. Une exposition de ses derniers tableaux a debuté le 10 janvier et se terminera le 24 fevrier 2011, à la Southwest Regional Library
situé à 16835 Sheridan Street Pembroke Pines, Fl 33331. On peut rencontrer Mirianne à la reception qui aura lieu le 24 janvier 2011 de 18:00 à 19:30 au Regional Library.



At 80 years of age Miranne Jean-Jacques drives herself to diverse cultural events where she is often honored as one of the local artist. Miranne will proudly let anyone asking know that she has learned to paint at the Institute of Notre Dame de Lourdes in Jeremie, where she was born and lived until she migrated to the US in 1958. Since then, her professional career progressed from being a secretary at the Haitian and Burundian Embassies in Washington DC to becoming after obtaining her masters in social work from Columbia Universty a clinical social worker at the Bellevue Hospital in NY master at Columbia University. Retired since 1996 and living in Pembroke Pines, she continued to create exquisite porcelain pottery and paint. Her paintings depict various themes from classical still life, floral arrangements and to daily scenic Haitian topics. Mirianne since her settling in South Florida has yearly exposed her art and participated in many local artist competitions in which she won the first prize. A showing of her latest paintings started since January 10 until February 24 and can be viewed at the Southwest Regional Library located at 16835 Sheridan Street Pembroke Pines, FL 33331.You can meet Mirianne in a reception which will take place on January 24, 2011 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Southwest Regional Library.
